Welcome to The Guardian's website

This website is designed to give you the ability to see a snapshot of what The Guardian does. The vision of the Guardian is to reduce crimes against children across South Africa. The crime rate in South Africa is very high and crimes against children is no exception. The investigation of these crimes is not something that generates money and therefore this type of investigation really hasn’t been successfully addressed in the private sector. There are institutions that address crimes against children proactively, from a therapeutic perspective, but none that I am aware of that addresses this dilemma from both a reactive and proactive perspective.

The Guardian has various products that look at addressing this from all angles. The first is the reactive scenario. If you find that an abuse has occurred against your child The Guardian offers specialist investigation that seeks not only to arrest the perpetrator but also looks at addressing and reducing the secondary trauma that a child goes through once they have made the outcry and have to go through the system. It isn’t that the system can’t deal with the problem but very often the people tasked with managing the situation are either not equipped to do so, don’t know how to or are simply doing a job and don’t address the problem with enough compassion. All of these three problems contribute extensively to the secondary trauma that the child victim often encounters. The Guardian will manage this process.

Reactively The Guardian has various other products. We have various training programmes that will address the protective education needs of children, parents and caregivers/teachers. We work closely with the school to assist in the implementation of Child Protection Policy and up skilling a child protection officer within the school to assist a child should an outcry be made. We offer the Help me bangle which is used to alert next of kin once the child has found themselves in a difficult situation, and because all kids want to grow up and all parents want to protect their children there is the Under Cover Guardian who will covertly keep an eye on your child in malls or at the beach when they don’t want you there. This will give peace of mind to parents that your child is being protected at all times by a Guardian.
